Floral Framelits Rose

Try this special little treat for Valentines, Easter or Mother’s Day!

I pulled out my Stampin’ Up Floral Framelits Dies and my Envelope Punch Board  and even some retired Strawberry Slush cardstock.  I like the pink color of Strawberry Slush…even sounds yummy!

YOU CAN DO IT!  Here’s how…..

  • Cut an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock 6″ x 11″.  Now turn it and cut at 6″ again for a 6″ square.  Take the smaller piece and cut it to a 5″ square and stick the long piece away for later use.  Don’t die cut now!  Read on!

  • These are the 3 Floral Framelits you will use…they are the 3 largest ones.

  • Place the 6″ square piece on the envelope maker with the edge at the 1/2 inch mark and score…..now rotate 90 degrees and score that side at the 1/2 inch.  Score to the edge of the cardstock and continue to do so for the other 2 sides so you will see a square in the middle of your cardstock

  • Now place the largest of the Floral Framelits centered as you see in the picture – with the points on the score lines and die cut in the Big Shot

  • You will do the same thing for the 5 inch square piece of cardstock, only place it at the 1/4″ score line each time you score down a side.

  • Do the same as you did for the largest framelit and 6″ piece of cardstock with the 5″ square piece of cardstock and the next smaller Floral Framelit

  • Your result will look like this.  You will now cut up the score line to the square score line every other petal.  It will look like this when you are finished cutting….

  • Now use a bone folder and bend the petals back

  • Once the petals are bent back, fold the cut petal inside the flower so you make a square box so to speak for the truffle to set in.
  • Then, one petal at a time, adhere the petal on the inside of the petal to the left.  Meaning – put the adhesive on the back side of the cut petal.
  • Do this to both of the Floral Framelits and then sponge the petals.  I used Melon Mambo on mine so it would appear a little darker.  The sponging is what gives dimension to the flower

  • Place the smaller petal box into the larger one.  I used a double stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals

  • Place the truffle in place with a Stampin’ Dimensional and die cut with the middle Floral Framelit as bed of leaves for the flower to sit on.

Enjoy!  Next week will be another flower candy holder tutorial.

I must say, I have enjoyed the snow/ice the past couple of days!  Daniel took me for a ride pulling me in a sled behind his buggy.  I’ve had a little extra time to spend stamping and just a more relaxed pace in life!  It’s been great to have power the whole time too!  I hope you have been able to relax and spend some time enjoying your stamps too!

Riverside club and Scrapbooking will be this coming Friday and Saturday, January 29th and 30th respectivly.

February Stamping Schedule starts off with:

Spartanburg Club on February 2nd with Pam H. hosting at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church@ 7:00pm  Plan on attending!
