This month my stamp clubs are making a beautiful card with Carols of Christmas bundle.…it is different than the cards you see here…..come join me for one of my clubs!  I have openings in my Gastonia Club and Riverside club now!

I have fallen in love with the framelits from this bundle…..we’ve not had anything like this before….it’s a decorative edge!  You can die cut both sides of your cardstock for a decorative edge all the way around you card.

Here’s how……

IMG_1800

  • Place the framelit on one side of your cardstock
  • center it about 1/8″ in from the edge of your cardstock all the way around
  • die cut and then take off framelit and do
  • the same to the other side of the cardstock

IMG_1801

I used this for the inside of my card…..just love the simple lines it makes as a frame for the sentiment

IMG_1810

This can easily by done by stamping the sentiment and then putting a post it note over the die cut lines so ink will not interfere with the die cut edge lines

Use markers to ink your stamp – HUFF to add moisture – and then stamp.  Some ink will go onto the post it note but just pull the post it note off after stamping!

I then added some “Wink of Stella” # 141897 for just a hint of shimmer on the ornaments.

For the card front:

  • cut a piece of Gold Foil #132622 size 4″ x 5 1/4″ as a layer on
  • card front (card is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and folded) in Cherry Cobbler #119685 cardstock
  • Cut a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and die cut the edge die on both sides like shown in first 2 pictures in todays post
  • Cut a layer of Old Olive cardstock 4 3/8″ x 3 1/8″
  • Cut a top layer of Very Vanilla cardstock 4 1/4″ x 3″ to stamp on
  • Stamp sentiment – I used sentiments from Better Together stamp set ##141736 and the ornaments from Carols of Christmas Bundle #146037
  • ribbon is Crushed Curry Mini Chevron #144197

This set of framelits isn’t just for Christmas…..you can use it all year round!

IMG_1799

For this card, you will need:

  • Berry Burst Cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″ folded in half with fold at top
  • Naturally Eclectic DSP cut 4″ x 2 1/5″
  • 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding in Berry Burst color #144191
  • Vellum #101856 cut 4″ x 3 1/2″
  • and a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
  • Blossom Builder Punch #141469
  • and frame lit from Carols of Christmas bundle #146037

IMG_1792

Begin by die cutting your velum with only one side of the 4″ side

IMG_1791

You can use Tombo adhesive #110755 to attach the velum and DSP together.  You want to attach it so  the adhesive does NOT show on the velum.  Place a small amount of Tombo on the bottom side of the velum

IMG_1793

Place the DSP on top covering the adhesive and coming just up to the die cut lines on the velum.  This is the back side so you can see where the adhesive is – it will not show – it is just under the DSP now

IMG_1794

Now put adhesive under the DSP so you can adhere to your card front

Tie 5/8″ Berry Burst Crinkled Ribbon around card front

IMG_1797

Your goal is for the adhesive NOT to show….so continue to hide adhesive by placing some Tombo where you will place flower on the back side between Berry Burst card and Velum….once you place the flower on top with Tombo – it will not be seen!

IMG_1798

Now to make the flower!  You will use Blossom Builder Punch #141469 and punch out from scraps of Berry Burst – 5 each of the 2 largest petals and 2 of the 5 petal  from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  Sponge around each piece after it is punched….this gives so much more dimension.

First heat glue gun and place a small dollop of hot glue on your Silicone Craft Sheet #127853 and start placing the largest petals on the glue

Continue until all the petals are placed on the hot glue and then finally add a large Gold Faceted Gem to the center of your flower.  The Hot Glue will cool in just a moment and then you will be able to peel the flower off the Silicone Mat.
