Christmas Gleaming Ornaments Sparkle

This month for my clubs, we have been using Christmas Gleaming Stamp set in the Brightly Gleaming Suite to create a beautiful card….without using Brightly Gleaming Speciality Designer Series Paper. But….I have SO ENJOYED using Brightly Gleaming DSP to make cards! I LOVE punching ornaments from the DSP! And a must add – Copper Foil #142020 to make bit of shine for a perfect presentation!

Also, tonight, I want to share a Thank you card we received from a Creative Escape participant, Judy…..We so loved it Judy! It was such an encouragement to me especially to receive your sweet note!

and we all got a CUTE CUTE CUTE little gift from Linda at club from Paper Pumpkin. Paper Pumpkin is always a fun gift to get, easy and quick to put together, and on hand at the appropriate season!

and……guest artist, Abby made me this beautiful origami crane and box….notice the box is purple; Abby remembered my favorite color. Abby and her sister, Hailey love to craft and play music and are advancing their skills. 🙂

I hope you will come join me at one of my events….I’ll be sending out another post with more crafting opportunities for the Christmas season.

October Stamping Schedule

Saturday, Oct. 19th – Jodi stamp camp at 10:00am

Thursday, Oct. 24th – Happy Stampers class at 1:00pm, Huntersville at Marilyn’s house

Stampin’ Up Notes
  • Purple Posy ink pad/refill is NOW available to order. You may order single ink pad and refill or the combo of 5 In Colors
  • More of the 3D embossing folders styles are now available to order: Tufted, Corrugated, and Layered Leaves
  • I have been using the NEW Paper Trimmer and LOVE it!
  • this month in club, we are using the new Delicate inks – they are great! I really like how they dry quickly and don’t need to emboss to get them to dry plus very nice colors! As of right now, Copper is in NOT orderable status and others are on back order, arriving the end of October. I STRONGLY suggest that if you like them, plan to order gold and silver on club order so that you will get what is coming in the end of October and not wait until they have arrived to place orders.
  • At this time, the Puff Paint is in NOT orderable status. It should be available this next week. It works very well….just shake well before using, remember it is going to come out a liquid, only use a small amount as it will “PUFF”, and heat longer than normal, and let completely harden before putting in an envelope.

Creative Escape Recap

I really made a little better attempt at taking a few pictures of this year’s Creative Escape…..however, I do get caught up in the moment of running around and talking. We had a great time this year! This was a first for video tutorials instead of paper tutorials for cards. See a little bit of our 2 day fun retreat!

Our color/decoration theme this year was inspired by the Noble Peacock Suite. And….we had a fashion show! Each year, guests receive a gift of at least $20 from the Holiday catalog. We lined up the gifts for the “runway” and had our fashion show…..fabulous contestants and costumes!

Annette and her peacock hens stole the show…..with a CUTE skit! in their burLOP outfits decked out in peacock style!

There were 2 more contestants and I failed to get pictures. I am so so sorry Kylie and Sara….I’ll have to see if I can get them from someone else.

And finally…the desert buffet

And here are some of the favorite cards….

Following are wonderful cards created by some of my team…enjoy as I do

by Carla
I wish you all could see this first hand! Carla die cut the star out of the white so the inside star sets in the cut out on the Night of Navy. She then used the new acetate and die cut the inside star. Great use of the Acetate!

The ribbon and wrapping paper are from the Toile Suite page 7 of the Holiday Catalog. Cathy’s tag is from Bells Are Ringing bundle pg. 17 in the Holiday Catalog.

Awwwww…..Cathy! I love it!!!!!! ok let me go take another picture and show you all! It’s precious!!!! Thank you Cathy!!!

And one more picture I have to share….it’s that little Ride With Me pick up truck….it die cuts and goes together so well! Here it carries a Block A for each one of my team that came to the team meeting along with a few kisses. I’ve had a lot of fun with this little truck!

Sr. Center cards includes Birds of a Feather

Our Sr. Center card class will include 2 Christmas cards this month! One from the stamp set, Birds of a Feather and the other from Tidings All Around.

More stamp camps to follow with Christmas cards!

Below are the Sr. Center card class cards for September. There will be one more child birthday card that is not pictured here.

Here is another little simple idea sure to bring smiles! I used the turkey from Birds Of A Feather stamp set. Stamp image with Memento ink and color in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for brilliant color. Die cut with circle and attach to a diaper fold DSP. Here I used a 6″ x 6″ piece.

Our guest artist tonight is Helen. Thank you Helen for sharing! She made this beautiful card using the stamp set, Seaside Notions and retired Seaside embossing folder. I love how the embossing folder sets the mood for this cards….it makes me feel the water moving to and fro.

Enjoy the savings on Designer Series Paper you like! This month, purchase 3 packages of DSP and get the 4th package FREE! Contact me today to order. Stampin’ Up has recently introduced new web sites for demonstrators. However, they are still working out a few “bugs” so you may want to contact me directly to order in the next week.

Ride With Me Bundle

This bundle has been sitting on my desk just waiting to be played with! I have been curious as to how well it was to put together……Wow! It’s a winner! It fits perfectly together and very easy….stable….and oh! so CUTE!

I put some “artist chocolate” in the back of the pickup truck for my hubby. Daniel came by and picked up the truck and thought it better than a card! You too can make one for your special “man” or fathers day/birthday treat for a party! Here’s a play by play picture tutorial.

  • Die cut one truck from a piece of card stock measuring 5″x6″
  • Use a Percision Platform to die cut
  • Notice the score lines in the bed of the pick up
  • After die cutting, fold all the score lines
  • I started adhering together the front windshield first
  • continuing to adhere forward
  • then adhere back windshield and on toward bumper
  • I had plenty of time, so I used Tombo, but if you are more comfortable using hot glue…this would work super quickly – just use a small amount
  • best to get the bundle!
  • I used the fender, grill, and windows stamps to add dimension to my truck
  • I stamped the window parts in Memento and used Stampin’ Blends to color in
  • The fenders were also stamped in black ink on Real Red card stock, die cut and sponged to give more dimension
  • I also sponged the truck edges to give it more dimension
  • Merry Merlot was used to sponge on Real Red card stock
  • after die cutting and fussy cutting all parts, start placing them on truck
  • front fender is die cut from Silver Foil
  • tires were glued straight on
  • fenders were put on over tires with dimensionals
  • windows and handlebars with glued straight on
Double stack of “artist chocolate”
my hubby pick me up in the afternoon from painting
